Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time permanent Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to contribute to our Cybersecurity department. This role provides flexibility for in-office or hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily security operations including threat research, network surveillance, incident management, and threat intelligence analysis.
  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities using scanning tools and threat intelligence.
  • Participate in the implementation of new security technologies and the development of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Engage in vulnerability assessments and risk evaluation tasks.
  • Monitor network activities, respond to security alerts, and investigate potential security incidents.
  • Maintain security tools for incident management, endpoint protection, and network monitoring.
  • Support data protection initiatives, including data recovery and application security measures.
  • Address zero-day vulnerabilities by implementing recommended controls from vendors and threat intelligence sources.
  • Facilitate security awareness training and conduct phishing simulations.
  • Assist in project and vendor risk assessments.
  • Contribute to server and network appliance hardening efforts.
  • Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments and security audits.
  • Provide after-hours support for network monitoring and urgent security requests.
  • Collaborate in the planning of enterprise security architecture and business continuity strategies.
  • Ensure secure configuration and operation of all security tools and devices.
  • Deploy and configure new security solutions in line with best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of Security+ certification is mandatory.
  • Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure, including routers, switches, and server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Multifactor Authentication, Encryption, and data protection methodologies.
  • Ability to implement security standards and frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, PKI, and various network security protocols.
  • Advanced skills in configuring network and security appliances.
  • Capable of applying security standards in both on-premise and cloud environments.
