ROLE SUMMARY
We are in search of an individual who is enthusiastic about cybersecurity, possesses a strong desire to learn, and excels in a collaborative environment. Reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for executing daily security operations, including threat research, network surveillance, incident management, threat detection, and the implementation of security measures. This role also involves identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities through various tools and intelligence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage in network surveillance, respond to security alerts, and conduct investigations to identify security incidents.
- Manage security tools and solutions for incident response, endpoint protection, network monitoring, and cloud services.
- Support the lifecycle of account management, access control, and audit logging.
- Assist in data protection, recovery, and application security initiatives.
- Participate in vulnerability management, responding swiftly to zero-day vulnerabilities with recommended controls.
- Facilitate security awareness training, including phishing simulations and annual security assessments.
- Contribute to project and vendor risk assessments.
- Support the hardening of servers and network appliances, including patching and configuration adjustments.
- Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Provide after-hours monitoring and support for urgent security-related requests.
- Assist in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture and documentation.
- Maintain secure configurations for all security tools and devices.
- Deploy and configure new security solutions in line with best practices.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Certification in Security+ is mandatory.
- Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure, including routers, switches, and server operating systems.
- Knowledge of multifactor authentication, encryption, and data protection is essential.
- Experience with security standards and frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, PKI, and other network security protocols.
- Advanced skills in configuring network and security appliances.
- Ability to apply security standards in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel as necessary and work outside of standard hours when required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a criminal record and background check is required.
