Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tax Analyst to join our team. As a Tax Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our tax products. Your expertise in tax research, analysis, and software development will drive the creation of new features and improvements to our existing products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tax calculations and forms within our software, creating detailed specifications for engineers.
- Test tax calculations, user experience, and form display changes within the software.
- Apply tax, accounting, and business knowledge to develop and improve new software features.
- Collaborate with tax authorities to certify our tax products.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of operational processes and product specifications.
- Work with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues and interact with clients as needed.
- Continuously assess and drive process and tool improvements.
- Prioritize individual and team work to ensure delivery of high-quality product features with customer value.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing federal and provincial tax returns, such as T1/TP-1.
- Strong background in tax research and analysis, with a deep understanding of Canadian tax law.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information and complex tax issues in non-technical language.
- Comprehensive understanding and use of tax preparation software, with experience using TaxCycle, TaxPrep, and ProFile being an asset.
- Proficient with technology, with solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Prior programming/coding experience is a strong asset.
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM and IT project management is an asset.
- Experience with software programming and testing is an asset.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) is an asset.
