Job Title: General Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the Jetside Lounge In Room Dining and Banquet operations at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Work in partnership with Jetside In Room Dining and Banquets to execute flawless operations
  • Recruit, train, and mentor ensuring a positive and motivating work environment, ensuring a guest-centric mindset
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Empower and support colleagues to resolve guest issues promptly

Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to drive revenue and maximize profitability while collaborating with the marketing team to create promotions and social events
  • Ensure forecasting accuracy and strategies to strive to achieve financial budget, analyze reports, find growth areas, optimize sales
  • Implement effective cost control measures of all food, beverage, labor, and operating expenses

Quality Assurance and Sustainability:

  • Uphold the highest standards of excellence as set by the Brand and LQA
  • Actively participate in the Fairmont Sustainability Program, Food Safety Committee, and determine department-specific action items
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both guests and staff, implementing best practices related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety

Qualifications: You should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior management role within a luxury restaurant or hotel setting
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • A proven track record in driving revenue and achieving financial targets
  • A strong understanding of LQA standards and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards in all aspects of the restaurant's operation
  • An ability to work effectively with programs, including Microsoft Office, OpenTable, Opera, and Silverware
  • Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of the local culinary scene and trends
  • A valid Serving It Right certification
  • A Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred
