Senior IT Architect

The Senior IT Architect plays a critical role in developing and maintaining the high-level design plans for our overall logical and technical IT architecture, business continuity, and disaster recovery. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making to project planning and execution.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support all activities and accountabilities of the IT Manager as the second-in-command of all IT Operations, leading, coaching, and guiding junior roles in the department.
  • Architect, implement, and manage LAN, WAN, and WIFI infrastructure, including switches, security appliances, subnets, VLANs, and routing.
  • Architect, implement, and manage operating systems and end-user software, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Design, configure, implement, and manage virtualized environments and server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Manage Office 365, Asure, and AD Administration, including Group Policies, Security Groups, User accounts, Logon scripts, and backup software.
  • Provide Tier 2 & 3 support as an escalation point for all IT peers, designing, configuring, implementing, and managing scripts to streamline and error-proof level 1 helpdesk tasks.
  • Architect, implement, and manage email systems, ACLs, phone systems, surveillance systems, SANs, VLANs, WAN, LANs, WIFI, firewalls, Routers, DNS, Hosts, virtual infrastructure, plant automation infrastructure, and assigned projects.
  • Lead and spearhead major projects as assigned, ensuring timely completion and delivery of results.
  • Design, write, and test Disaster Recovery Plans for infrastructure systems, assist in DRP implementations for Enterprise Software, and recommend software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and purchases.
  • Assist third parties in architecting, implementing, and managing cyber countermeasures while reporting on overall cyber defense posture.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum post-secondary education in Computer Science preferred.
  • Minimum eight years' experience as a technical consultant or architect, some within a consulting agency or managed services organization.
  • Certifications Required: PMP, CCNA, ITIL 2011 Foundation, VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.5] training, CISSP, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, MCP, MCSA, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Visio, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook); MS Active Directory, Office365 administration, asset Cisco CLI, or Meraki.
  • Specialized Skills: Change Management, Server Optimization, Virtualization, Network Architecture, IT Architecture, Cybersecurity, Technical Business Analysis.
