This role reports to a Shift Supervisor in the Mine Operations Department. As a Back-Up Operator (Underground), you'll support safe and efficient production targets through the operation of underground mining equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating underground mining equipment to achieve production targets
  • Performing manual labor tasks, such as clean-up, shoveling, scaling, and bolting
  • Working safely in a mining environment and adhering to procedures and policies
  • Participating in safety meetings and inspections
  • Working a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • A stable work record
  • A willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Initiative in both safety and performance objectives
  • Ability to adapt to modern technology and machinery
