Clinical Counsellor Job Description

Location: Our clinic is located in a convenient and accessible area, offering a bright and comfortable setting for our clients.

The schedule for this position is 12 hours per week, with flexible hours and the option to work virtually. We are seeking a personable and confident Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our team on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with assessment, consultation, and psychoeducational services
  • Active participation in regular team conferences involving client and members of the interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, clients, employers, referral sources, family members, and other counsellors
  • Psychological case management input and direction to the therapy teams pertaining to initial assessment, treatment planning, clients' progress, conflict resolution, stakeholder discussions, and problem-solving, and discharge planning
  • Quality reporting and communication
  • Orientation and mentoring to assist other team members to effectively manage clients' psychosocial issues

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Masters in Counselling/Clinical Psychology
  • Professional registration with the applicable college or association
  • Ability to use creative and structured approaches to assist clients to self-manage
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other correspondence
  • Ability to communicate using different styles and methods to suit individual clients and situations
  • Ability to make fair, practical, and objective decisions about best solutions to problems

We are a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation centre providing high-quality care to our clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients within a multidisciplinary team.
