The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at Union Gospel Mission. As a Counsellor, Recovery Victoria, you will play a vital role in empowering women residents to take responsibility for their recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen and assess residents to identify their needs and develop personalized recovery plans
  • Lead group sessions that foster effective learning and are consistent with Biblical principles
  • Counsel residents one-on-one, providing guidance and support to help them overcome challenges
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and trauma-informed approach to care

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counselling or Social Work from a recognized university
  • RCC and CCAC certification
  • Experience working with clients who experience various barriers, including poverty and trauma
  • Excellent knowledge of alcohol & drug and mental health disorders

What We Offer:
