Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our medical imaging department, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct MRI examinations, including positioning patients, explaining clinical procedures, and operating computerized imaging equipment.
  • Monitor patient safety and well-being during procedures, responding to any adverse reactions or emergent situations.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Participate in quality control initiatives, including scheduling and performing equipment tests, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain procedural protocols and manuals, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing clear instructions and explanations.
Requirements
  • Certification with CAMRT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and completion of Intravenous Therapy training course, when required.
  • One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRI theory and practices, as well as safe work procedures with modality equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
