Pastry Cook Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at Canoe Restaurant & Bar. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating unique desserts and pastries that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of desserts and pastries
  • Lead by example as a hands-on Pastry Cook, ensuring the quality and consistency of all products served
  • Maintain accurate records of food ingredients and control food costs
  • Ensure that all products are prepared and stored on a timely manner for opening
  • Minimize food waste and follow all operating procedures
  • Ensure that all health, safety, and cleanliness standards are adhered to
  • Handle special requests and guest allergies to ensure guest health and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years progressive experience in a pastry capacity
  • Knowledge of new trends in presentation and preparation
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well with a team and as an individual
  • Culinary degree/diploma an asset
  • Ice cream and dough knowledge an asset
