About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Health Development Manager to lead our B.C. Dementia Care Initiative, focusing on developing and implementing comprehensive plans for health-care provider communities of practice. This role will ensure continuous learning and peer support programs for workers in long-term care, promoting best practices in dementia care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the health-care provider community of practice, aligning with provincial goals and objectives.
  • Create innovative microlearning opportunities to enhance trainee engagement and continued learning, including short videos, online posts, newsletter articles, or emailed content.
  • Design ongoing opportunities for trainee peer support and connection, such as online peer connection meetings, moderated discussion boards, and in-person networking events.
  • Establish systems for measuring engagement and utilization of community of practice deliverables, collaborating with other teams to optimize deliverables and reach.
  • Work closely with health-care provider education Master Trainers to ensure alignment between community of practice deliverables and program goals.
  • Support and participate in provincial and national community of practice activities and mentoring programs.
  • Provide email and phone support to program trainees, documenting procedures for responding to requests.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with health care professionals and partners to understand learner needs and build awareness of the Society's health-care provider education program.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have a post-secondary education or relevant degree in public health, education, gerontology, social work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master's level degree is considered an asset.

You possess a strong background in designing and implementing educational programs, particularly in online formats, with expertise in adult learning principles and engagement strategies. Your ability to create impactful learning experiences that support professional development and peer collaboration is essential.

With exceptional communication skills and a collaborative spirit, you excel at coordinating with teams to align deliverables with program goals. Your experience working with people living with dementia or older adults in a non-profit environment is preferred, along with knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and the seniors' services sector.

Technical Requirements
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating virtual presentations or programs using Zoom is considered an asset.
  • Ability to maintain confidential client files, including recording training attendance and stakeholder engagement using Raiser's Edge software.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,000 to $77,000, paid time off (four weeks' vacation, two personal days, and thirteen paid public holidays), and comprehensive employee health benefits, including a Health Care Spending Account, group RRSP, and Employee Assistance program.
