Back of House Supervisor Job Description

At The Rec Room Royalmount - Bouffes, jeux & spectacles, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Back of House Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests, and maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and direct kitchen staff to create and prepare menu items in an efficient manner, ensuring high-quality dishes are delivered to our guests.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Support the kitchen in maintaining a safe and healthy food preparation environment, adhering to strict sanitation techniques to prevent cross-contamination and food spoilage.
  • Training and Development: Train and coach kitchen employees to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring they are equipped to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards.
  • Reporting and Maintenance: Report any necessary repairs or maintenance required for kitchen appliances and equipment, ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Logistics and Organization: Assist in completing all line checks, cleaning duty rotation, and temperature logs, maintaining accurate records and ensuring our kitchen is well-organized.
  • Menu Management: Establish, implement, and communicate menu recipe requirements, ensuring consistency and quality in our dishes.
  • Waste Management: Maintain an accurate log of food and beverage waste, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure preparation and cooking stations are well-stocked, maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Secondary School Diploma required; Post-Secondary in Culinary Arts or Hospitality preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' restaurant kitchen experience; high-volume food program experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Provincial Smart Serve certification where applicable.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
