Job Title: Child Care Assistant/Kitchen Staff

The Manitoba Metis Federation is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time Child Care Assistant/Kitchen Staff position within our Little Infinity Child Care Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing healthy and child-friendly meals and snacks that meet the needs of all children following the Centre's Approved Menu.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for meals and snacks;
  • Monitor cooking times and remove cooked dishes;
  • Oversee food levels and restock as required;
  • Deliver meals according to the designated schedule;
  • Receive and rotate incoming food orders;
  • Serve food at mealtimes as needed;
  • Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment;
  • Ensure indoor and outdoor areas are safe and free of hazards.

Requirements:

  • Recognized 40-hour course;
  • Minimum one year's experience as a Child Care Assistant or relevant role;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate;
  • Dependable and punctual;
  • Valid 1st Aid/CPR Certification;
  • Circle of Security Certificate an asset;
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, heritage, and language an asset;
  • Ability to travel and valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
