Job Summary:

The Manitoba Metis Federation is seeking a qualified Child Care Assistant/Kitchen Staff to join our team at the Louis Riel Childcare Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing healthy and child-friendly meals and snacks to our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks for children, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Monitor food levels and restock as needed, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space.
  • Deliver meals and snacks to children, promoting a positive dining experience.
  • Collaborate with the childcare team to ensure a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Recognized 40-hour course in childcare or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Child Care Assistant or relevant role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality programs and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and families.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate and First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, heritage, and language an asset.
