Job Title: Child Care Assistant/Kitchen Staff

Job Summary:

The Manitoba Metis Federation is seeking a qualified Child Care Assistant/Kitchen Staff to join our team at the Louis Riel Childcare Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing healthy and child-friendly meals and snacks, while maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to children
  • Monitor food levels and restock as needed
  • Deliver meals as per the designated schedule
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
  • Provide a safe environment and ensure indoor and outdoor areas are free of hazards
  • Respond to incidents and handle emergencies appropriately

Requirements:

  • Recognized 40-hour course in childcare or a related field
  • Minimum of one year's experience as a Child Care Assistant or relevant role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual
  • Valid 1st Aid/CPR Certification
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, heritage, and language an asset
