About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Installer to join our team at Soni & Sons Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing ceramic tiles and other flooring materials to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tiles, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Mortar and Adhesive Application: Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels, ensuring a smooth and even surface.
  • Tile Installation: Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base, ensuring a secure and level fit.
  • Tile Alignment and Cutting: Align and straighten tiles, and cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Grouting and Finishing: Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout, and lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
  • Tile Repair and Replacement: Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, and mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Conditions: Work in a variety of locations, including construction sites, and be exposed to odours, dust, and noise.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and ability to distinguish between colours.

  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, dependable, reliable, team player, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
