Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist I to join our team at the Vermilion Health Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and medication management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage medication therapy for patients, including initial and ongoing assessments, interventions, and resolutions of potential or actual drug-related problems.
  • Oversee activities related to compounding and packaging, ensuring safe and effective preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medication management services, including computerized medication order entry and drug distribution systems.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest clinical practices and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) from the Alberta College of Pharmacist is an asset, but not required. Successful candidates without APA will be expected to obtain it within 6 months of commencing in this position.

  • Demonstrated self-directed learning and continuing education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask.
