Your Opportunity:

As a key member of the Alberta Health Services team, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care as a Pharmacist I. Our pharmacists work in a multidisciplinary environment, where they have the opportunity to provide specialized and general medicine care to patients.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage medication therapy for patients
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems
  • Oversee activities related to compounding and packaging
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment to provide specialized and general medicine care to patients

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) from the Alberta College of Pharmacist would be an asset for this position. Successful candidates not having APA will be expected to obtain it within 6 months of commencing in this position, dependent on eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated self-directed learning and continuing education. Demonstrated good time management, including the ability to switch priorities and multitask. Demonstrated excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, good organizational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated; able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
