Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Planning Associate to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Wealth Management team, you will play a critical role in providing financial planning support to our dedicated Wealth Advisors. Your expertise will help our clients achieve their financial goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial planning support to Wealth Advisors, including preparing and delivering personal financial plans to clients.
  • Contribute to the overall success of ScotiaMcLeod in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
  • Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completed education requirements towards the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF) designation.
  • In-depth understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process, including investments, asset protection, retirement, estate planning, and tax issues.
  • College or University degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Advanced understanding of financial planning software and ability to model complex strategies.
  • Experience in Total Wealth Planning engagement from client discovery to plan delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Canadian Securities Course and/or Life Insurance License is an asset.
