Job Title: Youth Cultural Support Worker

Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive Youth Cultural Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Rapid Response Youth team, you will provide intensive cultural supports to youth aged 9-18 residing in the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outreach-based cultural supports to youth in community settings and member communities.
  • Collaborate with the cultural team and traditional resources to preserve and promote traditional practices.
  • Support youth in strengthening their cultural identity and staying connected with their culture, language, and community.
Qualifications:
  • A Child and Youth Worker Diploma or related degree and experience.
  • Two years of direct experience working with at-risk populations.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the life experiences and needs of the youth community.
  • Lived experiences as a First Nation community member in the First Nation/Urban community setting.
  • Ability to work co-operatively and negotiate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Work Environment:

Exposure to traditional practices and sacred medicines may occur within the work setting. Candidates must live within the service area.
