About the Role

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe, efficient, and meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations and maintenance activities of a portfolio of facilities, ensuring that they are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement annual facility management plans, ensuring that they align with our clients' needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with our clients to understand their needs and preferences, and work with our team to deliver solutions that meet those needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair activities of our facilities, ensuring that they are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage the budget for our facilities, ensuring that we are operating within our means and delivering value to our clients.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans, ensuring that our facilities are safe and secure.
  • Collaborate with our clients to develop and implement emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.
  • Manage the health and safety of our facilities, ensuring that they are compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with our clients, ensuring that they are satisfied with our services.

Requirements

  • Community college diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities operations and maintenance management.
  • Ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to lead and engage a team of individuals.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • High degree of client service orientation and sense of urgency.
  • Project management skills.
  • Emergency preparedness and business continuity planning and execution skills.
  • Sustainability mindset and ability to incorporate sustainable practices into daily work.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements and a high degree of safety mindset.
  • Continuous improvement and quality mindset and ability to continuously improve processes and incorporate best practices.
  • Knowledge of current building standards, code, and legislative requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Facility Manager through International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
  • Certified Property Manager through Institute of Real Estate Management.
  • Facility Management Administrator Designation through Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).
  • Real Property Administrator through Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).
