Job Title: Data Solutions Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Solutions Analyst to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a Data Solutions Analyst, you will design, develop, and implement critical data solutions and business analytics to support agile HR business initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Requirements Gathering: Read between the lines to anticipate and action on requirements and future work through active listening and balances that with more clear, urgent requirements.
  • Technical Requirements Translation and Documentation: Gather business requirements (which may be unclear or vague) and translate to technical and tactical action items.
  • Technical Solution Design: Manipulate data from multiple sources into visualizations using Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Execution Excellence: Develop and deliver proof of concept of a technical solution with speed and influences from the environment, nature and purpose of the project using real, scrambled or mocked up data.
  • Stakeholdering within Project Framework: Prioritize projects and milestones by ensuring alignment on what is most important at the moment and knows when to get clarity when blurry.
  • Data Expertise / Analysis for Business Recommendations: Perform analysis to pull key insights and findings from datasets or visualizations and use judgement to determine what is pertinent to end users.

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Python, SQL and Tableau.
  • Able to operate in an agile manner while understanding what's important in the moment.
  • Perseveres where there are roadblocks rather than it impeding moving forward in a project.
  • System's design thinking with the ability to translate observations into tactical, actionable work.
  • Agrees to disagree with a positive attitude to allow for the right balance of compromise to the straight path.
  • Understands the team's role and how it impacts other aspects of a project and uses this mindset to operate collaboratively.
