At Distinct Properties Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will work on various construction projects, including residential buildings, and be responsible for reading blueprints, preparing layouts, and measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.


The ideal candidate will have the ability to work accurately, be client-focused, and demonstrate reliability and teamwork skills. We offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, visible minorities, and mature workers. We also support veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the civilian job market.

  • Experience: Will train on the job

  • Tasks:

    • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
    • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
    • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
