Schools Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Schools Program Coordinator to join our team at Wheelchair Basketball Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing a comprehensive school's program, supporting corporate and community events, and promoting inclusive sports in the Ottawa/Eastern Ontario area.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the Schools Program in the Ottawa/Eastern Ontario Area;
- Work with existing community partners in delivering the Schools Program;
- Contribute to the expansion of the educational wheelchair basketball resource guide and oversee its distribution to participating schools;
- Coordinate school visits, deliver sport demonstrations, and manage athlete bookings;
- Inform teachers and students about community-based wheelchair basketball programming and participation opportunities in their area;
- Coordinate the delivery of the wheelchair rental program;
- Manage the equipment inventory, including storage and the transportation of equipment to and from schools during school visits or through the wheelchair rental program;
- Develop and maintain a database of school contacts;
- Develop resources, promotional material, and content for the website;
- Oversee ticketing strategy and coordinate ticket packages for schools to attend the IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships;
- Coordinate school arrivals and departures during the IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships;
- Liaise with school boards, educators, and administrators to develop and implement school-based 'try it' days;
- Administer surveys, collect anecdotal feedback, and testimonials, and track reporting data from participating schools;
- Conduct annual assessment of the program and create strategy for long-term sustainability of the program;
- Deliver corporate and community-based wheelchair basketball activations as required and in coordination with the Marketing and Fundraising team.
- The Schools Program Coordinator shall also undertake other tasks, activities, and responsibilities as he/she deems to be appropriate to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, and as agreed to by the Executive Director.
- All employees must be aware that as an employee of WBC, he/she is an ambassador of the organization to the WBC membership, and to the national and international sport community and must represent the organization in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
- University or College Administration or related field;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Program Development and Event Management experience;
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills is essential;
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and working with digital tools;
- Flexibility, initiative, and self-motivated;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to take direction and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Oral/written fluency in both official languages considered an asset;
- Knowledge of the amateur sport community considered an asset;
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills;
- Experience working with a sports organization, coaching, and/or teaching is considered an asset.

- Must be over 25 with a valid Class G drivers license and comfortable driving a large cube truck.
- To be eligible for employment the individual must meet the following criteria:
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- 2-year full-time position (37.5 hours per week) from October – October;
- Travel required;
- Located in Ottawa, currently working virtually.
