About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Technical Artist, you will play a critical role in supporting our Art teams and bridging the gap between Art and other departments in the development team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Art teams to establish and maintain best practices, quality bars, pipelines, and processes.
  • Adapt and learn new techniques and processes to address production constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and prioritize artist issues with tools and art creation workflows.
  • Work with engineers to get features running and test before main production.
  • Advocate for the department's goals and needs, removing roadblocks and raising red flags as necessary.
  • Collaborate with members in other departments to ensure solid working relationships.
  • Provide clear guidance on technical performance constraints, maintain assets, and help define asset budgets.
  • Contribute to topics at the project level, promoting a great game and development experience.
  • Promote and build an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' games industry artist experience, with some time in Technical Art.
  • In-depth expertise on relevant 3D and 2D software packages.
  • Strong understanding of pipelines and asset optimization challenges/techniques.
  • Ability to own challenging issues and find practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of game engines and art integration, as well as corresponding technical restraints.
  • Experience addressing game performance and optimization.
  • Ability to receive and deliver constructive criticism.
  • Ability to inspire positivity within the team and trust with other departments.
  • Passion for making and playing games.
