About This Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. The successful candidate will also participate in inpatient care at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to ensure the best possible health outcomes.
  • Manage workload and practice to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure continuum of care.
  • Provide care coordination and community-based care services.
  • Build capacity within the first two years (new physicians).
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Work towards same-day or next-day access for the practice population.
  • Collaborate with team members to best suit the community's health needs.
  • Provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.
  • Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details.

Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
