About the Role:

Adecco Canada is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Site Superintendent to oversee our client's ICI construction projects. Our client is a prominent construction firm dedicated to delivering excellence in commercial and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day site activities, ensuring that construction progresses according to schedule and within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed, conducting regular inspections and ensuring that all construction meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients, providing updates on project status and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Site Superintendent, specifically in new build commercial or institutional construction.
  • Education: A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations in Ontario.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Technology: Proficiency in construction management software and other relevant tools.
