About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Goodwood General Contracting. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying adhesives, and setting tiles in place to create beautiful and durable installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring and marking areas to be covered
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar and cement, to ensure a strong bond between tiles and surfaces
  • Set tiles in place, using hand tools and power cutting tools to cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout to create a clean and finished look
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles to maintain the integrity of the installation
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets to support tile installations
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite to create beautiful and durable finishes
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective tile installations
Work Environment

As a Tile Setter, you will work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working at heights. You will be required to bend, crouch, and kneel to complete tasks, and will work in a variety of settings, including on-site construction projects and in our warehouse.

Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in tile setting or a related field
  • Ability to work at heights and handle heavy loads
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
