About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Custodian to join our team at Equation Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our client's long-term care and rehabilitation facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and Assign Tasks: Plan and coordinate the daily tasks of the custodial team to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Ensure all areas of the facility are clean, sanitized, and disinfected to maintain a high level of hygiene and prevent the spread of infection.
  • Security and Access Control: Responsible for unlocking and locking the building, as well as ensuring the security of building assets.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain all housekeeping equipment, including cleaning machines and tools.
  • Waste Management: Ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintenance Reporting: Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the facilities management team through work orders.
  • Health and Safety: Comply with all health and safety procedures, including infection control protocols, to ensure a safe working environment for staff and residents.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Custodian is required, with supervisory experience leading a team being an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Physically capable of repeatedly lifting upwards of 20 lbs, with the ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, and frequent reaching, bending, and crouching.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow safety policies and protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Pleasant and approachable demeanor, with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff and residents.
