Patient Food Service Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Patient Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day site food service activities at the Foothills Medical Centre. The incumbent works with a dynamic team of supervisors to provide direct supervision to front-line food service staff and maintains an efficient operation of patient food services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance management, recruitment, training, staff scheduling, payroll management, and discipline of area employees
- Monitoring operational performance targets, including budget and inventory management, to achieve quality food service goals using a customer-focused approach
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, as well as implementation and monitoring of quality improvement, risk management, and safety standards
- Communication and collaboration with the Nutritional Services Team (Clinical Dietitians) to ensure diet orders are implemented appropriately
- Processing correct adult and infant formula orders, and ongoing communication with other clinical team members to ensure correct therapeutic diets and formulas have been ordered
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting involving hiring, scheduling, and directing work to assigned employees
- Candidates are required to have either a diploma/degree in Dietetics, Nutrition and Food Service Management, or Dietary Technology
- Considerable leadership experience in a unionized healthcare environment is desirable, with strong team-building skills and the ability to handle multiple demands concurrently
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Experience with CBORD, Formula Calculator, e-People (RMS), and e-Facilities is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with change management is preferred
