Sustainability Team Lead Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the NFI Group Sustainability Team, the Sustainability Team Lead plays a vital role in driving the company's sustainability initiatives across environmental, social, governance, and economic dimensions. This position is responsible for supporting the execution of programs aligned with NFI's corporate sustainability goals and promoting sustainable practices throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will have strong expertise in ESG principles and a deep understanding of international reporting frameworks. They will be self-motivated, an effective problem-solver, and provide leadership and guidance to the Sustainability Team.

Key Accountabilities:

- Acts as a liaison between the Sustainability Team and Sustainability Manager, guiding and supporting day-to-day work and priorities, including addressing project challenges and technical obstacles.
- Monitors changes in sustainability indices, reporting, legislation, and the needs and expectations of stakeholders.
- Analyzes current practices and recommends necessary improvements and innovative solutions to drive NFI's ESG portfolio.
- Leads and oversees the accuracy, compliance, and clarity of reports, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Creates standard operating procedures to optimize data collection processes and measurements to satisfy multiple program requirements.
- Tracks performance on the current state of the Group-wide energy, resource, waste management, and sustainable procurement practices.
- Works alongside cross-functional teams to support the implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy ensuring consistent messaging supporting the promotion of NFI's sustainability initiatives.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for the Learning and Development Team focusing on the design and development of sustainability training programs.
- Supports activities related to ISO 45001 and 14001 programs.

Requirements:

- University or college degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, environmental management, business, finance, engineering, and/or (a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered).
