About the Role:

NFI Group Inc. is a leading global bus manufacturer, and we are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Team Lead to drive our sustainability initiatives across environmental, social, governance, and economic dimensions.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the execution of programs aligned with our corporate sustainability goals and promoting sustainable practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support strategy development and participate in project planning and execution.
  • Conduct program assessments and provide leadership and guidance to the Sustainability Team.
  • Monitor changes in sustainability indices, reporting, legislation, and stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Analyze current practices and recommend necessary improvements and innovative solutions to drive our ESG portfolio.
  • Lead and oversee the accuracy, compliance, and clarity of reports, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Create standard operating procedures to optimize data collection processes and measurements to satisfy multiple program requirements.
  • Track performance on the current state of our Group-wide energy, resource, waste management, and sustainable procurement practices.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to support the implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy ensuring consistent messaging supporting the promotion of our sustainability initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Learning and Development Team focusing on the design and development of sustainability training programs.
  • Support activities related to ISO 45001 and 14001 programs.

Requirements:

  • University or college degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, environmental management, business, finance, engineering, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Demonstrated technical and sustainability project management experience is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience with sustainability reporting requirements, indices, and scoring agencies (CDP Climate Change, TCFD, SASB, GRI, SBTi, ISO 14001 / 45001) is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with a strong emphasis in Excel (Microsoft Power BI considered an asset).
  • An accountable, passionate team leader that values building relationships, communicating effectively, and delivering results.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.
