Job Title: Head of Power Supply Construction

Job Summary:

Alstom is seeking a Head of Power Supply Construction to oversee the construction of power supply sites, ensuring compliance with Alstom EHS rules and creating a 0 accident and 0 deviations culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable in QCD of all Power Supply site works, from preparation until completion and handover.
  • Responsible and accountable in Alstom EHS rules (AZDP) compliance, creating a 0 accident and 0 deviations culture.
  • Responsible and accountable in planning set-up and on time execution until hand-over.
  • Planning definition, then progress follow-up until hand-over.
  • Site Interface Management with internal and external Stakeholders.
  • Management of suppliers (if applicable) and subcontractors on site.
  • Quality management in coordination with QA/QC team (Audits, modifications, NCR, REX...etc).
  • Configuration management until hand-over to T&C.
  • Construction interfaces with other subsystems (OCS team, Trackworks team, signalling team, O&M team, CW team...etc).
  • Definition of Installation strategy for the Power Supply construction activities.
  • Lead the Buy/Do decision process for each Site works WP.
  • Constructability reviews with Power Supply teams.
  • Methodologies development considering all Safety and operation aspects.
  • On Time Delivery (OTD) of all Power Supply works.
  • Preparation of related Gate Reviews.
  • Preparation of Power Supply works, including all logistics aspects.
  • Collect the REX (Return of Experience) coming from the Regional Centers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Civil Works or scientific subjects.
  • Professional Engineer designation as per Canadian regulations.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration and/or Master's Degree in Project Management.

Experience:

  • Graduate from any Engineering school in mechanical, electrical or civil works systems.
  • Should be Professional Engineer as per Canada regulations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the construction oversight and management of T&D or Railway Power Supply projects (Traction or Distribution), including maintenance and testing of substation equipment that includes, medium voltage power transformers, medium voltage switchgear, protective relays, SCADA RTU Systems, power cabling, control cabling and grounding and bonding.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E and NESC requirements for electrical maintenance and construction of power distribution systems.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Railway Operations, systems, ET maintenance and construction.
  • A minimum of six-seven years of experience in Power Supply (AC or DC) construction activities, green and brown field.
  • Strong knowledge of Canada standards and common practices.
  • Fluent in English, second language appreciated.
