Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices.

Responsibilities- Provide clerical support by performing tasks such as timekeeping, recording workload statistics, and maintaining inventory of sterile supply instrumentation.
- Assist with the maintenance of procedure manuals, including typing, cutting, and pasting, photocopying, and filing new and/or revised procedures.
- Operate departmental equipment such as automated washers, cart washer, pasteurizer, ultrasonic washer, clean dryer, heat sealer, and sterilizers.
- Participate in routine maintenance of Department's equipment by cleaning, checking, and testing sterilizers, mechanical washers, and other MDR equipment.
- Perform medical device reprocessing technician duties as assigned, including cleaning, decontaminating, checking, testing, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing supplies, instruments, and equipment related to the Operating Room and other areas of the Hospital.
We are looking for a candidate with a Grade 12 education, successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing program, and one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also have a strong attention to detail and be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
