Job Summary:

As a Building Systems Coordinator at PCL Constructors Canada Inc., you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our projects. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems will enable you to effectively coordinate and commission building systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist project teams with the coordination of building systems trades, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Coordinate the drawing process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of building systems documentation.
  • Read and understand building systems trade contractor quality-management programs, witnessing on-site field testing and recording results.
  • Oversee the commissioning process, including scheduling, testing activities, and project close-out.
  • Chair various meetings related to building systems, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist project teams with building systems commissioning document deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Attend management and architect meetings related to building systems, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Adhere to and support internal safety programs, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications:
  • Tradesperson or post-secondary diploma/degree in a related discipline, such as mechanical, electrical, or controls, is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, with the ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with construction progress and sequencing, with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and become proficient with new software, with a strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
