Job Title: Associate, High Yield Bonds

We are seeking an Associate, High Yield Bonds to join the High Yield Bond team at TD Asset Management. The position is tailored for an associate that has some credit and/or investment experience and who would support Portfolio Managers across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist portfolio managers and analysts with monitoring current holdings.
  • Gather and filter financial data and news.
  • Perform in-depth review of company's historical financial and credit performance, management assessment, competitive market dynamics and industry analysis.
  • Prepare models and spreadsheets to project financial performance of issuers and identify relative value opportunities in the bond market.
  • Prepare research reports to present to portfolio managers and the team.
  • Provide timely updates on companies and sector coverages to team.
  • Maintain relationships with sell-side contacts, rating agencies, 3rd party research and company management teams to identify and track investment opportunities.
  • Conduct or assist in economic, market and industry research across the various sectors and geographies.
  • Analyze trust indentures and bond prospectuses for various securities.
  • Perform timely analysis of primary market opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Progress toward the CFA designation.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in analyzing corporate bonds, equities or other investment assets in a buy-side, sell-side or rating agency environment with a preference for previous experience analyzing high yield corporate bonds or loans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience with writing analytical reports.
  • Strong accounting and finance background.
  • Bloomberg, Microsoft Office experience.
