Job Description

Job Summary:

The Batching Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a concrete plant, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
    • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
    • Provide training and coaching to employees on safe work practices.
  • HR/Coaching & Mentoring:
    • Manage employee relations and resolve conflicts.
    • Develop and implement employee development plans.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Environment:
    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.
    • Develop and implement environmental procedures and protocols.
    • Monitor and report on environmental metrics and KPIs.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on plant operations, safety, and environmental performance.
    • Provide data and insights to support business decisions.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Administration:
    • Manage plant inventory, including materials and supplies.
    • Develop and implement inventory management procedures and protocols.
    • Monitor and report on inventory metrics and KPIs.
  • Operations Analysis and Action Tracking:
    • Develop and implement operational metrics and KPIs.
    • Monitor and report on operational performance.
    • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
  • Plant Image:
    • Ensure the plant is maintained in a clean and organized state.
    • Develop and implement plant image procedures and protocols.
    • Monitor and report on plant image metrics and KPIs.
  • Specific Accountabilities:
    • Meet or exceed safety performance targets.
    • Meet or exceed operational performance targets.
    • Meet or exceed customer satisfaction targets.
    • Meet or exceed environmental performance targets.

Qualification Profile:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the ready mix business is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Self-motivated and customer service oriented.
