Bakery Supervisor Job Description

At Simply Biscotti, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
  • Train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to produce high-quality products.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Hire and dismiss staff as needed, ensuring that all employees meet the company's standards and requirements.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Oversee the sales and merchandising of baked goods to ensure maximum visibility and appeal.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in a bakery or food service environment.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Work Environment:

The Bakery Supervisor will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, with frequent exposure to flour, sugar, and other baking ingredients. The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

Security and Safety:

The Bakery Supervisor will be required to undergo a criminal record check and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Personal Suitability:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment. They will be reliable, accurate, and client-focused, with a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
