About the Role:

The Account Manager will be responsible for growing profit for Univar's market share using a consultative selling process. This involves identifying and capturing new business opportunities at existing accounts and prospective new accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively plan customer visits 1-2 weeks in advance.
  • Call on established and prospective customers to sell company products and services.
  • Grow Univar's industrial footprint within the region.
  • Arrange frequent joint calls with Univar and Supplier Technical Service Specialists.
  • Maintain a high-integrity sampling program for key customers.
  • Co-ordinate with Customer Service and Operations to maintain customer service levels and ensure resolution of complaints.
  • Co-ordinate with Purchasing department to ensure availability of product.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to manage customer information during all planning phases.
  • Out of town travel is expected. Estimated at 3-4 nights per month.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field (I.e. Business Administration, Chemistry or similar).
  • Minimum 3 years of previous outside sales (B2B) and/or customer facing experience.
  • Chemical sales experience is an asset.
  • Effective and engaging communication skills.
  • Recognize and monitor market conditions, trends, and competitor activities.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com CRM & Tableau for Data Analytics is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and eager mentality.
  • Ability to relate to, and communicate with individuals at all levels.
