Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Systems Engineer to join our team at Zobility. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of driveline systems and interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design and integration of driveline systems and components, ensuring seamless interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
- Lead technical cost reduction initiatives and value optimization efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Represent the company in managing lessons learned documents and ensuring that technical specialists receive updates in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the development validation center team to review driveline system and component validation completion status.
- Manage cross-functional task force teams to prioritize, plan, and track progress on initiatives.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of engineering experience, preferably in driveline, axles, transmission, or powertrain systems.
- General knowledge of EDM gearboxes, drivelines, axles, or transmission systems and interface requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting complex material to various audiences.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and issue resolution.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a time-constrained environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
- Self-motivated and excellent organizational skills, including prioritizing work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of engineering experience in driveline, axles, transmission, electrified driveline systems, or powertrain systems engineering.
- Experience in gearbox, driveline, or axle design release responsibility.
- Master's degree in engineering - mechanical, electrical, or equivalent.
- Supervisory or leadership experience of small teams.
- General knowledge and experience of powertrain duty cycle analysis.
- Ability to manage high volumes of part/system complexity.
- Knowledge in powertrain product development processes.
- Knowledge in application of functional block diagrams, design failure mode effects analysis (DFMEA), and design validation plan and report (DVP&R).
- Green/black belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable.
- Experience with electric motors for automotive applications.
- Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects to successful conclusion.
- System-level thinker with the ability to understand how different powertrain components and systems are interdependent.
- Excellent presentation skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering - mechanical, electrical, or equivalent.
