About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Fish Processing Labourer to join our team at Fisherman's Market International Incorporated. As a key member of our processing team, you will be responsible for unloading and preparing fish for market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload Fish and Shellfish: Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them by hand to the work area.
  • Transport Fish and Shellfish: Use a forklift to transport unloaded fish and shellfish from fishing vessels.
  • Condition Fish Filets: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing.
  • Weigh and Pack Fish: Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack fish in ice.
  • Clean Equipment and Work Areas: Clean machines and immediate work areas.
  • Measure and Dump Ingredients: Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
  • Sort Fish: Sort fish according to species, weight and destination.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Environment: The work site environment is noisy, with odours, cold/refrigerated, and wet/damp conditions.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding work, manual dexterity, hand-eye co-ordination, and standing for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: The role involves handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Requirements

  • Work Schedule: The work schedule is 30 to 60 hours per week.
