Accounting Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for leading consulting engagements, supervising junior staff, and providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead assurance and non-assurance engagements for various clients
  • Supervise and develop junior staff, providing guidance and support
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Complete corporate and personal income tax returns, meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Identify and resolve engagement issues, maintaining strong client relationships
  • Train and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Support practice and professional development initiatives, staying up-to-date with industry trends
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with public practice experience preferred
  • Interest in managing and developing others, with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail, with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, prioritizing tasks and managing deliverables
  • Experience with Caseware, Profile, Sage 300, Sage 50, and QuickBooks is valued
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly MS Excel
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to think critically
  • Excellent client service skills, with ability to understand clients' business needs and maintain strong relationships
