About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in providing financial services expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assurance and Advisory Services: Lead consulting engagements and special assignments, identifying client service opportunities and developing solutions to meet their needs.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, develop, and lead junior staff, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their careers.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing exceptional service.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, sharing knowledge and expertise with the team to drive business growth and excellence.
Requirements:
  • Professional Designation: Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience working in accounting, with public practice experience preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Interest in managing and developing others, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Strong attention to detail, with experience using Caseware, Profile, Sage 300, Sage 50, and QuickBooks.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
