Purchasing Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our team at Galaxy Home Furnishing Corp. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine clerical duties, picking up and delivering materials, and preparing price quotations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Pick up and deliver materials, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Prepare price quotations, taking into account costs and inventory levels.
  • Calculate costs of orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and records.
  • Prepare purchase orders, processing requisitions and verifying stock availability.
  • Review requisition orders for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Verify stock availability from current inventories, monitoring inventory levels and compiling reports.
  • Monitor inventory levels of issued materials and stocks, preparing requisition orders to replenish stock.
  • Record the quantity, type, and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory systems.
  • Verify receipts and packing slips, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Work Environment:

Our Purchasing Clerk will work in a wholesale establishment/store environment, with access to public transportation and parking available on site.
