The Purchasing Assistant Role at Johnson Electric
About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Purchasing Assistant to join our team at Johnson Electric. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement and Inventory Management: Coordinate purchasing activities, manage inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of goods and services.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with the maintenance department to determine services and one-off parts, prepare RFP/RFQ, and track and follow up on repairs.
- Communication and Liaison: Communicate and liaise with other divisions to standardize products and consolidate suppliers.
- Inventory Control: Maintain control of outside processor activities, including releases, follow-up, and transportation coordination.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Update outside process inventory records and reports, and perform month-end inventory duties.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or College Education relevant to the position or equivalent.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation skills, mechanical aptitude, ability to coordinate purchasing responsibilities, excellent communication skills, and competency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Experience: Previous experience in purchasing or supply chain management is an asset.
