Occupational Therapist

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients by providing occupational therapy services in accordance with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC standards of practice.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy theory and practice, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for assessing patients' physical and cognitive status, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and cognitive status, functional abilities, needs, and goals.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Provide education and consultation to patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice within a patient and family-centered model of care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Ability to establish workload priorities and adjust to unexpected events.
