About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance and Treasury Analyst to join our team at Kinross Gold Corporation. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for assisting with the company's global insurance program and loss prevention activities, as well as performing treasury activities related to financial assurance, banking, and cash management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the annual insurance renewal process for all lines of insurance, ensuring that the company's insurance program is optimized and aligned with its risk management strategy.
  • Provide support for all claims and assist with the handling of such claims, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that claims are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage broker relationships, ensuring that broker and consultant agreements are in place and current, and that the company is receiving the best possible service and advice.
  • Create and track insurance program enhancement projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the company's insurance program.
  • Research and identify alternative approaches to building insurance towers for various policies, ensuring that the company's insurance program is optimized and aligned with its risk management strategy.
  • Participate in project construction insurance as needed, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that claims are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaise with lenders and partners to ensure compliance with contractual provisions, and stay abreast of developing risk and insurance trends, facilitating risk discussions internally and with insurance advisors.
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships, educating mine and corporate management on risk and insurance matters, and work with risk consultants and mine management to arrange surveys to mine sites to conduct risk surveys and review the risk reports.
  • Maintain the quarterly risk recommendations with the mine sites and record progress, and assist with the internal ranking system by prioritizing risk mitigation recommendations outlined in the risk reports.
  • Identify options around enhancing the current premium allocation system that takes into account mine site risk ratings and loss prevention performance, and work with mine sites to track impairments.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Insurance and Treasury Analyst who has a strong background in finance, risk management, and insurance. You will have a proven track record of success in a similar role, and will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of insurance and risk management principles, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will be a strong communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills, and will be able to work effectively in a team environment. You will also be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
