Job Summary:
Hamilton Kent is seeking a skilled Splicing Technician to join our team in the production of high-quality gaskets. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of gaskets, adhering to company quality and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and clean working area, adhering to company health and safety regulations.
- Ensure mould temperature is set correctly prior to splicing.
- Prepare rubber strips for splicing, including dipping, sanding, heating, and cleaning strip ends.
- Verify rubber strips for straight cuts and clean ends prior to splicing.
- Load tape rolls into tape machines and visually inspect quality.
- Load gaskets into presses and insert splicing tape between gasket ends (as required).
- Close moulds, allowing auto timers to open once cure time is up.
- Remove gaskets and remove flashing.
- Visually inspect gaskets for cracks, nibs, lumps, pinholes, and other defects.
- Inject silicone into gaskets.
- Break splice seals using pneumatic anvils.
- Place gaskets on silicone spreaders and check for leaks.
- Pack finished gaskets.
- Verify the proper amount of gaskets are placed in each box.
- Document and record all required information.
- Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production requirements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Read, write, and speak basic English.
- Ability to use or be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.
Working Conditions:
- Almost 100% of work is performed in the plant environment, requiring varying degrees of light physical labor, including lifting, pulling (less than 15 lbs.), standing, and walking.
- Exposure to heat and use of light press equipment.
