Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens and provide accurate results. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens
  • Document observations and results accurately and efficiently
  • Conduct quality control assessments of testing techniques
  • Prepare tissue sections for microscopic examinations
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide accurate and timely results
Requirements:
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification
  • Experience in a medical laboratory setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy
