Role Overview

Ansys is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer to join our Customer Excellence team. As a key member of our team, you will partner with customers to engineer innovative solutions, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow our business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, including technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
  2. Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver technical pre-sales support, professional services, and customer-facing solutions.
  3. Interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows, analyzing how to address their requirements using Ansys products and platform.
  4. Develop competence as a subject matter expert and industry expert, collaborating with Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features.
  5. Support Ansys field and digital marketing, authoring conference presentations and contributing to consulting services.

Requirements

  1. Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Material, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment, with demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  3. Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys' business, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English.
  4. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time, with a strong foundation in advanced dynamics modeling methodologies, mechanical vibration analysis, and multibody dynamics systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. PhD in Mechanical, Civil, Material, or Aerospace Engineering or related field, with 3 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer-facing roles using engineering software.
  2. Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives, with a strong background in computational solid/structural mechanics and fatigue, fracture, and material model theories.
  3. Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation in FEA is highly desirable, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively.
